The tragic death of Kobe Bryant, along with his beautiful and talented daughter, Gianna, and seven others, was an incomparable loss to the sports world. I, as a fellow father, husband, and sports enthusiast, followed his career, and was aggrieved like many others at the untimely loss of such an inspiring person. Then and there, I immediately decided to memorialize some of my recollections of their socialized lives in a painting. I wanted to document some of his
history as a great basketball player, as well as capture the love between he and his daughter, Gianna.
I created Black Mamba from the depth of my heart, recalling the numerous games I enjoyed, and being amazed by Kobe’s unmatched skills. Gianna was a rising basketball star in her own right, proving the saying that the"apple didn’t fall far from the tree"! Sadly, to our world, they’re now simply a match of inspiration and skill, in heaven.
"Thank you Kobe and Gianna (Mambacita) for the unforgettable memories!"
